Awakenings ADE 2023
Awakenings ADE 2023: a temple of techno where the line between reverence and rave is gloriously blurred. Joyhauser’s live set here is a sermon in big-room, melodic techno, delivered with the precision and power of a mainstage headliner. The vibe is one of collective, fists-in-the-air celebration, a sea of people moving in unison to every monumental build and drop. On the technical side, they craft a dynamic journey around a 140 BPM average, expertly using the dominant, anthemic quality of the 12A key to tie everything together.
The energy is again low-end heavy (0.68 avg), providing a thunderous foundation for their signature, soaring lead synths and those carefully deployed high-end impacts that make a crowd lose its collective mind. Their track selection is a clever blend of modern bombast and timeless classics. Dropping Fragma’s ‘Toca Me (Clubmix)’ is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, a slice of pure 90s euphoria. Berg Jaär’s ‘Däl’ offers a darker, driving contrast, while the reboot of ‘Greece 2000’ is a nostalgic rocket fuel.
The true peak, however, is the monstrous Charlotte De Witte & Enrico Sangiuliano remix of ‘The Age of Love’, a track so powerful it feels like it bends the room’s architecture. From an unknown, atmospheric start, they build relentlessly towards that iconic remix, before closing out their own headline narrative with the driving, synth-led force of their original production, ‘Dexo’.
