Le Camion Bazar
Café Barge in Paris, France for Cercle
A Cercle set in Paris, on a barge, by Le Camion Bazar—of course we’re here. This is the kind of elegantly curated, vaguely Balearic deep house that makes us feel sophisticated even while we’re frantically Shazam-ing. The vibe is effortlessly cool, Parisian twilight on the water, a crowd that appreciates a slow build and a vintage disco edit. Technically, this is deep house with strong balearic and disco influences, cruising at a comfortable 124 BPM and spending most of its time in the bright, open 12A key, with 5A and 3B adding soulful depth. The energy is perfectly balanced for a lengthy, vibey session: a solid low-end (0.51 avg), expressive mid-range melodies and vocals (0.47), and just a touch of high-end air (0.02).
The mixing is smooth and musical, prioritizing groove and atmosphere over dramatic shifts, letting tracks like the 15-minute ‘You Got What It Takes’ remix breathe and evolve. It’s a set that values journey over destination. The track selection is a connoisseur’s delight. Stavroz’s ‘The Finishing’ is a majestic, slow-burning opener. The Larse Remix of Shit Robot’s ‘Feels Real’ is a prime slice of modern, indie-dance infused house.
Throwing back to Jon Cutler’s ‘It’s Yours’ (Distant Music Mix) is a deep house history lesson, and Joey Negro’s Funk Equation Mix of ‘Free Bass’ is a lesson in impeccable, bass-led groove. The inclusion of Soft House Company’s ‘What You Need’ edit is a perfectly sun-bleached, balearic finale. The journey starts with the cinematic swell of ‘The Finishing’, finds its lazy, hypnotic peak in the extended disco of ‘You Got What It Takes’, and drifts off with the balmy chords of ‘Jump Upped’—a deep house soundtrack for a perfect evening.
