Awakenings x 9x9 Invites ADE 2023
999999999 at Awakenings ADE is the audio equivalent of being strapped to a rocket sled in a concrete bunker. This isn't a set; it's an endurance test for your adrenal glands, and we're all willing participants. The vibe is pure Dutch warehouse carnage, strobing lights and a crowd moving as one pulsating, sweating organism. Technically, this is unadulterated hard techno, locked at a punishing 154 BPM average and harmonically bouncing between the tense 5B and 3B keys.
The energy is brutally low-focused (0.64), a wall of distorted kick drums, with mids (0.21) for rhythmic noise and significant high-end screech (0.14) for that essential ear-piercing terror. Their mixing is relentless, often using sudden cuts and noise bursts to create a sense of controlled chaos. The track selection is a who's who of industrial strength: Alignment's 'I Don't Flex' is a perfect, muscular opener, and minimal violence's 'Last One at the Rave' lives up to its apocalyptic name. SIKOTI's 'One More Time' is a loop-driven sledgehammer, and Exceed's 'Atomically' adds a sci-fi, acidic twist.
Alex Farell's 'All Night Long' and Sensity World's 'Get It Up' are peak-time tools for the hardened raver. The journey launches with aggressive intent, accelerates through a barrage of distorted loops and screaming synths, and crashes to a halt with the relentless drive of TNT's 'Heartache'.
